KAMINSKI BRIGADE   (29th Waffen SS Division)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Unfortunatelly, some Ukrainians did serve in this dissgrasfull formation. Formed in 1942 around Briansk, this formation was of the size of brigade and never became a full division. The Brigade was mostly utilized against Soviet partisans and scouting missions. Most of the soldiers of this formation were Russian prisoners of war and hiwis. After brigade's misconduct during the supression of the Warsaw Uprising, it was called to be an embarassment to the Waffen SS. The brigade leader Bronislaw Kaminski (of Polish origin) was executed and the rest of troops were handed over to the 30th Waffen SS Division and Vlasov's Army. Brigade's patch was crudely made black Orthodox cross on a white shield and RONA abbreviation (Russian People's Liberation Army).
